"Alright everyone, today we're going to do something special!" The host club president -the one and only Tamaki Suoh- declared as he faced the other host club members, -all but one present and staring back at him with wary expressions. Special was never good when leaving Tamaki's mouth.

"Special?"

"What do you mean by 'special'"? The Hitachiin twins questioned their leader curiously and Tamaki grinned in his usual, oblivious way.

"Well, since it's Haruhi's birthday I thought we could do something nice for her, she spends all of her time here, with us men, in the host club, right?" The small group around their blond leader nodded.

"Uh-oh, I know where this is going," Kyoya sighed, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose, trying his best to keep his cool with this 'idea' of Tamaki's, one which the raven haired boy knew would do him no favors.

"I thought it would be kind of us to tend to her feminine needs by,-" with an excited tone Tamaki presented his host club members with a long, flowing gown, -something that no woman would actually wear in this day and age-. "Being girls for the day!"

The room fell deadly silent. Tamaki usually thought of some crazy things for the club members to do to please their guests but… cross-dressing?

"You can't be serious?" Kyoya questioned openly, and concealing his horror, but Tamaki only nodded with a somewhat stern look on his face –one which did not suit in this situation as he held such an abomination in his hand.

"Of course I'm serious, when am I not serious?" That question had debatable answers, all of them knew that, but right now, he couldn't  be serious.

"You're making us cross-dress?" Hikaru questioned skeptically.

"We do a lot of strange things boss but…"

"We don't do cross-dressing," the twins went on, apprehensive looks being shot at the frilled, baby blue dress in Tamaki's hand and their leader sighed at his rebel underlings and pressed a fist to his jutted out hip.

"We're doing this for Haruhi, it's only fair, and we are gentlemen after all," Tamaki continued in an encouraging tone, "how can we be true gentlemen if we don't make sacrifices? It is our duty to treat women well, and –in the case today- step into their shoes."

All five of his companions blanched at the thought of what Tamaki would have in mind for those shoes, and they all prayed that it wouldn't be heels.

"But what about our other guests? Won't they be put off if we're dressed like girls?" Kyoya continued to question, hoping more than anything that Tamaki would forget this whole idea if he pushed him enough. The last thing he wanted to do was put on a dress, even if it was Haruhi's sake. After all, the girl had never expressed a need to look feminine otherwise she would have quit the club a long time ago, so who was this actually benefiting?

"Why must you all be so skeptical about this?" Tamaki sighed. "Fine, I'll do it first but once we have gauged positive reactions from our guests then you all have to change. Do we have a deal?" The club leader didn't wait for an answer before he grinned with a declaration of 'wonderful' and walked into the changing rooms.

********

The host club members all lounged on the sofa's as they waited for Tamaki to emerge. Hunny lying on his back with a large frown on his face and his precious pink rabbit Usa-Chan pressed to his inflated chest. "I don't wanna dress like a girl," he complained, his brows furrowing further before Mori ruffled his blond hair and the shorter male blushed.

"None of us do," the dark haired male replied in his usual monotone as the door opened for the first time and a myriad of girls flitted into the room, giggling excitedly and all but Kyoya stood up to greet their guests and requesters.

"Call us-"

"If you need us," the Hitachiin's told the vice-president as they walked away and once he was alone Kyoya sighed and pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose, waiting impatiently for 'the King' to emerge and reveal his transformation to 'the (temporary) Queen'.

Honestly Kyoya couldn't believe Tamaki had even suggested such a thing as cross-dressing. Of all the crazy ideas this one definitely tipped the scales.

Finally the blond pulled the curtain back -just as whispers began flitting around the room about his mysterious disappearance- and stood in the most feminine and bashful way he could, his head down as false hair extensions descended over his left shoulder and the blue gown he wore hugged his straight figure.

It looked… odd, which came as no surprise to Kyoya seeing as dresses aren't made for men, but such a look sort of… suited Tamaki. So much so that his bespectacled friend had to hold back a gasp and his urge to drag the blond back into the changing room and do some quite unspeakable things to him. An urge he already had to go every day suppressing, and he never imagined seeing Tamaki in a dress would make it this much worse.

"Well?" Tamaki asked shyly, pressing a finger to his lips, "how do I look?"

Kyoya said nothing, just stared in awe at the male in front of him, trying his best to remember that he had to stay calm. Not that his memory was winning this war, his brain had turn to mush to be replaced with badly suppressed instincts, ones which definitely were not appropriate, especially not in a host club full of girls.

"What's going on?" A new voice questioned and Kyoya was thankful for the distraction, and turned to Haruhi, pushing his glasses up his nose as he composed himself and he sighed.

"Our leader has lost his mind," he explained, but his explanation was quickly cut off by said leader as he pranced towards the final host member.

"Haruhi!" He sang as he ran towards the girl, "look, daddy's considering your needs today and we're all dressing as girls just for you." He said as he cooed over the brunette who sighed irritably at Tamaki, her brows furrowing in annoyance.

"I already have one cross-dressing dad, I don't  need another one," she snapped at the blond.

Tamaki stood frozen as Haruhi walked around him and to her clients, ignoring her typically stupid leader as he sulked in his elegant dress. "I knew this wasn't going to work, you should know by now that Haruhi doesn't appreciate gestures that look like acts of sympathy," Kyoya commented but Tamaki said nothing, just stood rooted to the spot with his head down in shame.

Kyoya sighed, seeing Tamaki depressed was common, and instead of consoling the blond –seeing as getting any closer may send him over the edge he was already barely clinging to- the raven shrugged, and walked away. Tamaki would get over it on his own eventually.

********

Kyoya had been sure that the clubs' leader would get over it, but he hadn't. Once somewhat composed Tamaki had proceeded to drag his feet back into the changing rooms and sulk there for the remainder of the host club's duration, and even Kyoya was concerned by this point. Tamaki had never disappointed his guests before, but today he had ignored every girl who had requested his company.

"What about the boss?" Kaoru asked their vice-president as the Ouran girls left the room and once again Kyoya sighed.

"I'll check on him, he knows that he can't stay in there all night, don't worry about him."

"Will Tama-Chan be alright?" Hunny asked from his perch on Mori's shoulder and the raven nodded.

"He'll be fine Hunny-Sempai, when you see him tomorrow he'll be back to his usual, -too cheerful- self." With that answer, Hunny grinned, and the four host members left the club room.

Haruhi was the last to leave, sighing with exhaustion as she reached the club room door, "if it helps then you can lie and tell him I'm sorry for yelling," she told Kyoya who laughed.

"I'm sure it would help, however I'm also sure that saying that would only encourage him to do more things of a similar nature, and I know no one in the club wants to experience that."

The brunette frowned in distaste at the idea. "Try to cheer him up Kyoya-Sempai. I'm sure you're the only person who can," Haruhi smiled knowingly, and after the raven's nod of assurance, she left.

Once the room was silent Kyoya slowly made his way over to Tamaki's dressing room and stood beside the curtain, "everyone's left you know, you had your underlings take care of your guests for you. I didn't think you were that kind of leader, Tamaki."

Kyoya pushed his glasses up his nose and waited for a retort which never came –much to his surprise- and after an elongated silence the raven turned to stand in front of the changing room. "Tamaki?" He said, but again the blond didn't answer and without another word Kyoya walked into the changing room.

The club leader was indeed there, still dressed in his long gown, his hair extensions lying lifelessly on the floor beside him and his expression was one of clear depression. "Am I a bad leader?" Tamaki asked his friend as he stared at his own reflection.

Kyoya let out a long breath, and sat down beside the blond to comfort him. "You're not a bad leader, but sometimes you have quite extravagant ideas, some of which many of the members don't agree with," he explained.

"And you think that too, right?"

"Well, I think asking us all to cross-dress was a bit out of the norm," Kyoya replied honestly.

Tamaki finally sighed, realizing that this may have been a little over the top and he stood from his place on the changing room floor. "I have a favor to ask," he said, pulling off the blue satin gloves he'd been wearing as Kyoya too, stood up.

"What's that?"

"C-could you," Tamaki cleared his throat, sounding nervous, and the raven beside him raised an inquisitive eyebrow at the blond and his unusual behavior. "I- um. I tried to take it off before and the zip got stuck, and I can't reach it properly from here," Tamaki finally explained, a blush rising over his cheeks as he laughed with embarrassment, and though Kyoya understood why he  was suddenly very nervous, he wasn't quite sure as to why Tamaki was.

Trying his best not to think too much about the situation he was in the raven did as he was asked without a word as Tamaki moved his arm to reveal the zip at his side, a small piece of silk tucked into the zipper where the blond had caught it. Being careful not to snag the fabric Kyoya laid his hand on Tamaki's side, swallowing thickly as he pulled the zip up ever so slightly to free the dress, then pulled the metal down to Tamaki's hip where the zipper ended.

His mind began racing. Should he leave? He most certainly didn't want to; Tamaki looked very appealing right now in a slightly loose dress, and it was definitely not helping Kyoya's barely suppressed feelings. "I'll uh, wait outside," he stuttered, loosing his usual cool composure, and he pushed up his glasses as he turned away, pressing them forcefully into the bridge of his nose as he passed through the curtains and cursed himself for his stupidity. Something could have gone terribly right or terribly wrong there if the raven had decided to act on those feelings of his, but now he would never know either way.

"K-Kyoya," the raven heard Tamaki call not moments after he left, and the boy stood from the sofa he'd sat in to apprehensively walk back over to the changing room.

"What's wrong Tamaki?"

There was a long silence before the blond finally answered, "I'm stuck again," he admitted, and Kyoya wasn't sure how much more of this he could take, if Tamaki wasn't so known for being a klutz, the raven would swear the boy was doing this to him on purpose.

"What is it this-" Kyoya started as he walked back through the curtain, but stopped dead, letting his words trail away as he stared at Tamaki, the boy's arms in the air, and half of the dress over his head, where it would stay until the zip neither of the boys had noticed on the other side of the gown was pulled down, giving Tamaki room to pull the rest of the dress over his head.

"Help," Tamaki asked, the position he was in being awkward and his arms getting tired from their immovable position.

Kyoya –once again- did as he was asked, and helped Tamaki out of the dress, halting any other mishaps from occurring by also pulling the silk from over the blonde's head and off his body.

As the dress was tugged Tamaki stumbled forward, his mostly naked body pressed flush against Kyoya to keep himself upright and the blonde's breath began to quicken along with his heart beat. "Are you alright?" The raven asked with slight concern in his voice and he tilted the leading host's face up by his chin to examine him and make sure he wasn't hurt in any way.

Tamaki nodded against the hand, staring into the hypnotizing pools that were the vice-presidents eyes and swallowed thickly. Was his heart really supposed to be beating this fast? Could Kyoya feel that it was?

Truthfully the raven couldn't perhaps only because his heart was racing just as much. He'd never really been in such close proximity to his crush in quite some time and though he was enjoying it far more than he probably should have been the worry that he might do something Tamaki didn't want frightened him.

That thought almost disappeared completely however when the blond sighed against the contact and closed his eyes, lifting his hand to press Kyoya's hand against his cheek. The bespectacled boy lost his composure there as his breathing hitched and he stared down at Tamaki's peaceful face from his closed sapphire eyes to his pink lips. It would only take a small movement; just a short push forward and Kyoya could be kissing those lips.

But… what if?

His brain had been telling him 'what ifs' since he developed his crush on Tamaki and had taken over any other thought on the subject since. 'But not this time,'   Kyoya told himself. This time there were no 'what ifs'. There was only him and Tamaki and a small lean and their lips met with tantalizing sparks.

For the first time in a long while the host club was silent. There were no ladies to entertain, there was no Haruhi to distract Tamaki and drive his 'paternal instincts' and there were no twins to snicker and jibe.

For the first time there was only Tamaki and Kyoya tangling themselves in a warm embrace and tongue tied to each other, something which the pair had only ever dreamed of and today –for the first time- it was a reality.

They both broke the kiss with a wet 'pop' and the raven placed another few gentle kisses against the shorter male's lips, unable to get enough of him. After the kisses Tamaki hid his face in Kyoya's shirt and as the raven slid his hands down the president's arms he felt the blond goose bumps and shiver.

"You're cold," the boy pointed out softly and Tamaki only managed to nod, "you should get dressed, I'll wait outside." The raven turned away but a hand didn't leave his wrist and he turned back slowly, lifting Tamaki's head to place another soft kiss on his lips as a promise that this wasn't ending here.

With that the blond let go and allowed Kyoya to exit the changing room and stand against one of the pillars outside. It only took a few minutes for Tamaki to re-appear, his expression grim and heavy with a pout making the raven look at his critically. What was this all of a sudden?

"What's wrong?" Kyoya questioned and Tamaki looked up to give the boy a serious look.

"Was it just because I was in a dress?" The blond asked and Kyoya needed no more explanation than that to figure out what the president meant.

All Kyoya could do was sigh. Did Tamaki really think that little of him?

After pushing his glasses further up his nose Kyoya ushered the blond forward with a finger and Tamaki complied somewhat skeptically. Once he was close the raven gave one of his crossed arms a tug and brought Tamaki's lips to his own once again.

The host president shivered and squeaked against the raven's lips but made no effort to break the contact giving Kyoya the time he needed to coax the other's tongue out to meet his own and deepen the kiss. When Tamaki complied the raven sighed and wrapped his arms around the other's waist as Tamaki's own arms slithered around Kyoya's neck.

For need of breath the kiss broke again much like it had the first time and once the blonde's eyes fluttered open he noticed the raven giving him a stern look. "Do you honestly think a dress would change my feelings so dramatically for you?" He asked Tamaki who looked perplexed. It hadn't? Kyoya squeezed the bridge of his nose in disbelief. How could one person be so oblivious?

"Tamaki, it's you I want. Not the boy in the dress but the boy. " Comprehension dawned on Tamaki and the blond blushed.

"I just thought-"

"No, you didn't," Kyoya interrupted and lifted Tamaki's face with a small, warm smile. One he only ever had for the blond. "But that's ok because now you know."

Tamaki grinned then, sliding his hands down Kyoya's chest to take the raven's hand in his. "And you all thought my cross dressing was a bad idea," the blond commented as he and Kyoya left the host club and made their way through the empty school to Tamaki's car.

"You have proof that it wasn't?" Kyoya smirked but the dig did not faze the host club president who only beamed in response.

"Yep, I'm holding hands with it," the boy answered and Kyoya rolled his eyes to disguise his blush and smile as his heart gave a happy little jump.

So maybe something good did come out of Tamaki's cross dressing. It was still vetoed the next day by a unanimous vote against the idea which had Tamaki sulking in the corner for most of the day until Kyoya cheered the blond up with some heavy petting.

They agreed then that Tamaki was forbidden to cross dress… unless it was in private of course.
Whoa now, hold the phone!
